What Is Medicare Supplement Insurance?

Medicare Supplement insurance — also called Medigap — is sold by private insurance companies to help pay for healthcare costs that Original Medicare (Parts A and B) doesn't cover, including copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.

Unlike Medicare Advantage, Medigap works alongside Original Medicare. You keep your Medicare benefits and use your Medigap plan to cover the remaining costs. There are no networks — you can see any doctor or specialist who accepts Medicare, anywhere in the country.

No Networks

See any Medicare-accepting provider nationwide — no referrals required.

Predictable Costs

Know your out-of-pocket exposure before you need care.

Guaranteed Renewable

Your coverage cannot be cancelled as long as you pay your premiums.
